Kendrick Homes is a builder of luxury houses based in Walsall, West Midlands. Established for over 130 years, the company prides itself in creating individual properties throughout the UK.
Kendrick has selected DRU gas fires for The Ridings, its latest development in the village of Balsall Common, which is situated close to Birmingham and Coventry.
DRU Metro 100XT gas fires are situated in six of the properties, with the other three having DRU Global 70XT models in classic limestone fire surrounds. Both fires are balanced flue models, which are well suited to properties of this kind. They do not require a chimney and are easy to install against an outside facing wall using a false chimneybreast.
The fires have substantial heat outputs of 7 kW, enough for a larger than average living room. They feature impressive and realistic log fire displays and are operated by remote control.
Finally, the efficiency rating of the DRU fires at over 75% is a major contributory factor in helping the homes to achieve Grade A standard Energy Performance Certificates, an essential requirement for all new homes in the 21st century.
The fires were installed by The Fire Place, a Lichfield-based fireplace retailer and consultancy that specialises in modern fires for contemporary and traditional properties. Proprietor Russell Bailey has many years experience in fireplace design and installation and has a long standing association with Kendrick homes.
